Much of the 2013 season for Luke Stewart was spent getting acclimated with their new Hig-Fab car. As the season began to wind down, Stewart had some strong finishes at Brockville Speedway. With just one more event remaining before the current closes on their season, Stewart is already looking ahead to next year, and a fresh start with a vast amount of knowledge to apply from this current season.
Stewart had posted a pair of top five finishes over the final few weeks of the season at Brockville Speedway, and finished the 2013 season inside the top ten in points for the first time in his career, finishing ninth overall with six top ten finishes along with his two late season top five results.
“We have had a pretty good year considering it was our first year with this new car”, says Stewart. “We have learned a lot, and we are anxious to get ready for next year, and have some notes to fall back on with this car. I really have to thank Jerry Higbie and his staff at Hig-Fab for all their help this season”.
Luke has returned to school for his final year at Sir Sanford Fleming College in Lindsay, Ontario. He will race on Saturday, September 21st at Brighton Speedway for their annual Applefest Weekend, featuring a 100 lap Mr. DIRTcar 358 Modified Series race. The team will then start to teardown the car and have it returned to Hig-Fab chassis for a look-over before beginning to rebuild for 2014.
Luke would like to thank all of his sponsors for their generosity as we enter the 2013 racing season. They include Fort Glass, M.A. Barr Service Station Maintenance, RW Electric, McCoy Bus Tours, Penny Blake of Remax Realty Kingston, Southeastern Telecommunication Services, Number One Speed Equipment, Stewart Speed Supplies and Finish Line Web Design. Also a very special thanks goes out to Wayne and Donna Smith for all of their support. We thank you all for your support during the 2013 season.
